It's back against the wall time for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. They avoided a sweep by the Denver Nuggets, but face elimination in a pivotal Game 5 on Monday. If you check LeBron's social media before the game, the only thing you'll find has nothing to do with the game: James called into his wife Savannah's podcast and revealed a surprising desire.
There's been a lot going on in the James household lately, between Bronny James' NIL fiasco and Bryce James' speculation about his dad's future. On top of all of it, Savannah James is launching a new podcast called Everybody's Crazy, set to premiere on Tuesday, which could be the day after the Lakers exit the playoffs.
Savannah James reacts to LeBron wanting a wig
James, who used to famously "go dark" on social media during the NBA Playoffs, clearly has different priorities in Year 21, such as supporting his wife's new media venture. He joined the podcast's social media account on Instagram live, sparking a funny conversation with his wife that revealed his way to cope with his receding hairline.
"Why I can't see my hairline?" James said in the video, drawing a wide-eyed look of judgement from Savannah.
"I don't know about that, bro," she teased him after he tried to fix it.
"I'm gonna have to put on a wig!" said the NBA all-time leading scorer, overjoyed by the idea.
Savannah did not sound opposed to the unconventional idea. "Buss it down then!" she cried.
The 39-year-old kept the Lakers in the series with a vintage 30-point performance against the Nuggets on Saturday. However, down 3-1 with Game 5 back in Denver at the home of the defending champions, there is a slight feeling that everybody in Los Angeles has an eye on the offseason, when LeBron will decide if he wants to use his player option to stay with the Lakers or hit free agency.
If the offseason starts Tuesday, the last image fans will have from his social media is him is talking about putting on a wig.
