Month after month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) distributes this financial support to thousands of beneficiaries. Payments are made in stages, depending on the date of birth of the recipients. However, all payments fall at the same time, regardless of the day of the month.
According to information provided by the SSA, payments are always made at 12:01 a.m. on the scheduled payment date. In the case of SSI, resources are dispersed on the 1st of each month. However, if the beneficiary also receives Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), this payment will fall at 12:01 a.m. on the 3rd of each month.
What day will SSI checks be deposited this month?
SSI payments are scheduled for the 1st of each month. However, if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, the deposit is brought forward to the immediately preceding business day. This means that beneficiaries will receive two deposits in May.
This year, June 1 will fall on a Saturday, so the SSA will make the payment for that month on Friday, May 31.
In the event that you do not receive your payment by the scheduled date, the SSA recommends waiting three additional mailing days and then contacting your bank to verify that there are no problems on your end. If the problem is not with your bank, then go to the nearest SSA office.
